Primeira aula confirmada da VII Escola de Inverno GEPAD - First Session Confirmed for the VII GEPAD Winter School

É com grande satisfação que anunciamos a primeira atividade da VII Escola de Inverno GEPAD, que contará com a participação de dois importantes especialistas do Brasil e da China.

A aula de abertura abordará o tema:

“Brasil e China: Trajetórias Históricas no Combate à Fome, à Pobreza e na Construção de Marcos Institucionais”.

Participam desta atividade:

• Prof.ª Dr.ª Siyuan Xu (NWAFU – China), especialista em Desenvolvimento Rural e Agroecologia.

• Prof. Dr. Renato Maluf (UFRRJ – Brasil), ex-presidente do CONSEA Nacional e referência em Segurança Alimentar.

O encontro promoverá uma reflexão sobre as experiências brasileira e chinesa na formulação de políticas públicas voltadas ao combate à fome e à pobreza, destacando diferentes trajetórias históricas e institucionais que contribuíram para a promoção da segurança alimentar e nutricional e do desenvolvimento rural.

A atividade contará com tradução simultânea entre português e inglês, ampliando o diálogo e a participação de pesquisadores e estudantes de diferentes países.

We are pleased to announce the first session of the VII GEPAD Winter School, featuring two distinguished scholars from Brazil and China.

The opening lecture is entitled:

“Brazil and China: Historical Pathways in Combating Hunger, Reducing Poverty, and Building Institutional Frameworks.”

The session will feature:

• Prof. Siyuan Xu, Ph.D. (Northwest A&F University – China), Specialist in Rural Development and Agroecology.

• Prof. Renato Maluf, Ph.D. (Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro – Brazil), Former President of the Brazilian National Council for Food and Nutrition Security (CONSEA) and Specialist in Food Security.

The event will foster a reflection on the Brazilian and Chinese experiences in formulating public policies to combat hunger and poverty, highlighting the distinct historical and institutional pathways that have contributed to promoting food and nutrition security as well as rural development.

The session will feature simultaneous interpretation between Portuguese and English, broadening the dialogue and enabling participation from international researchers and students.
